Limitation Is Borderless

Ever heard of “The sky is the limit?”, and it made you wonder what does it really means. Is the sky is the limit for whatever we are doing or dreamt, or, is limitation is borderless. Can you really find “the sky”? Well, that was the idea, I supposed, that is to find out what is really the final frontier to our endeavors.

There are philosophical possibilities relating to this ‘toing-toing’ topic. The first one, there is no limit of what you are able to achieve. If we ourselves could list down whatever things that we always wanted, in writing, then, based on the that list, we work ourselves out “like mad”, we can achieve any one or two, or, all of the listed.

Or, are those listed are really achievable? Or, is it just a statement of anything is possible trying?

Whether you can achieve any goal of whatever you are trying, the effort that we put in, does not falls under the interpretation of ‘the sky is the limit’. You can try, if you want to but result may dismay you, or otherwise. In a “now found” borderless world, limitation also is borderless. It is as if you got some rules attached to some action, but, on some circumstances, the rules can be bending, to suit the necessity of the moment. It is flexible and open to continuous improvement.

The second possibility is, limitation is everywhere. As human lives the planet, human also found out that there is not one inch of this planet that is not govern by rules. It is everywhere, it is borderless. It knows no boundary to its applicability. No human can go to some place as see a billboard saying, “Do as you like”. The most we could find is “Have a great fun”. Well, that’s good enough!.

In both situations, limitation does exist. The purpose of the limitation is, of course, to limit things. It is functionally stopping us to do things that are not supposed to be done, in a specific circumstance, but, okay in another. The factors of limitation could be time, place, and situation. It limits things. On the positive note, it creates room for creativity and innovation. Most of new things were invented to overcome ‘limitations’ caused by the existing ‘things’. Take plastic straw for drinking purpose for an instance. It was invented to help people to drink easily out of bottle. It was a mess when people try to drink while on plane, on ship or while standing up. The drinking straw reflects creativity and innovation. Be at the border and see what is on the other side, maybe there is something for you!
